ADMISSIONS
Proudly serving students with learning and developmental disabilities in grades 3 to 6 for its inaugural year and adding upper grades each year. Our nurturing environment cultivates a strong sense of community, fostering feelings of self-worth, connection, and lifelong success. Through our innovative and integrated teaching approach, we empower our students with the essential skills they need to lead purposeful and enriched lives.
Prospective students must be eligible under one or more of the following:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Intellectual Disability (IND)
- Developmental Delay (DD)
- Other Health Impairment (OHI)
- Specific Learning Disability (SLD)
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
- Language Impairment (LI)
- Speech Impairment (SI)
If your student meets our eligibility criteria, we will schedule an interview for both the parent and student with a member of our admissions team. This meeting will help determine if Focus Day School is the right fit for your student.
Required Documents

- Individualized Education Program (IEP), if applicable
- Psychological evaluation
- Current photograph

*Please note that Focus Day School is not a behavioral-based school. We do not have the resources to accommodate students who may exhibit physical aggression toward others or their environment.
Scholarship Information
We’re excited to announce that Focus Day School now accepts the Step Up For Students Family Empowerment Scholarship for Unique Abilities (FES-UA)!
This scholarship program provides funding to help families personalize their child’s education. The FES-UA scholarship can cover:
- Private school tuition and fees at Focus Day School
- Additional educational therapies and services
- Specialized learning materials and curriculum
Who Qualifies?
Students ages 3 through grade 12 (or age 22, whichever comes first) with one of the qualifying diagnoses listed in our eligibility criteria above may be eligible for this scholarship. Award amounts vary based on grade level, county, and individual needs, with scholarships averaging approximately $10,000 annually.
How to Apply:
- Visit the Step Up For Students website to begin your application
- Submit required documentation including proof of diagnosis, age, and Florida residency
- Once approved, designate Focus Day School as your chosen provider
